Anyone ever hear of OMNA-AUTO Inc. in Seattle, WA? Or Gerard Coach?
I have just unearthed some molds I believe came from their production line... _________________ Cheers!

Are they the Oldbug roadster and pickup truck, by any chance? That'd be great if they were, put them back in production, and not only would the Volksrod crowd jump for joy, but people who wanted a nostalgic advertising vehicle for their business would have a great albeit non-weathertight alternative to a BGW conversion on a bug, a PT Cruiser or an HHR. |

Actually, I have several dozen molds. I have the standard bug eye, wide eye, and one piece baja kits. I also have the molds for several stock fender styles... even the square headlight ones. I have molds for empi style hoods and a smooth hood. I have the "bug box" to make the sedan delivery on a bug body.... and yes, I have the molds for the rumble seat roadster and the oldbug truck. I also have the molds for the flat fenders! I even have the molds for this kit:
I'm still in the midst of sorting this out, but the plan is to find a shop to contract a few runs of pieces.... after we catalog what all is there. Any requests? _________________ Cheers!

I may be interested in an Oldbug truck, as may a young friend of mine who's not a Samba member.
Did you by any chance buy the shovelnosed Baja Bug on Ruby Avenue in Eugene, Oregon as a stock-height green car resembling a weathered former showcar about 4 years ago? |

Did you say Gerard Coach? Aren't they the ones who made a VW-based sports car kit resembling an Allard K1 roadster (the "Tiger") and a Jaguar XKSS replica for VW or front-engine V6/V8 power? (the "Lion") and some non-VW kits? |

Yes they are the Jaguar kit builders.... but they seem to have disappeared around 1985.
The bug pictured was for reference only. I only have the molds, not the car.
Once I get them all cataloged I'll post pics. _________________ Cheers!

I finally got around to taking pictures of the molds I acquired. There are some really cool pieces and some I cannot identify! I count just under 90 pieces... pics are here:

Do you have any pics of the Gerard Coach molds? (hopefully the Tiger molds are there, that'd be great to have another classic roadster-style VW kit car, even in a limited run) |

A friend of mine has just aquired these molds from Beladona and we are looking for any information at all on Omna Autos. Pictures of finished cars/trucks, ads, brochures, building instructions, anything at all. I'd like to get going on on the C-cab truck but have only the one front 3/4 profile picture to work from, so a lot at this point is just guess work. To repeat any info at all regarding the Conpany, the kits , or the person/people who started/continued the work would be very appreciated. Thanks all. John Ware 970-872-4804 or [email protected] |

Are these the same kits/molds as the ones from DOMUS or BGW ?
From The BIG guide to Kit and Specialty cars....
They were based in Kirkland Washington. In the mid 70s they were called Omna-Auto and was owned by industrial designer Alan Gerard and his sons. In 1977 they changed their names to Gerard Coach and started selling a Wilton Tiger replica.
Then it just goes on about a few other things his was into |

Hi guys,
Rescued a 70 bug this past weekend. It had been put into a garage in 1983 and hasn’t been driven since.
Along with the bug was a new, never install Omna-Auto Bug Box kit. I haven’t had a chance to wash it yet because it’s below freezing here in Indiana still.
It has the assy manual, drawings, wood parts, engine lid, rear window and all in good shape. I’m still looking for the hardware kit in the owner’s garage.
Anyone interested in this give me a yell.

I also found the hardware kit for the bug box, so it looks like I have the entire setup.
I sat the bug box on the back of the car and took a picture for ya.
