My wife Naomi took a pic of someones signature from the factory from 1954 can anyone read it? Wanted to catch it for posterity prior to the blasting. Pretty cool would love to know who it was.

Hey cool, brings back memories of mine. Lets see some more detailed pics of the "holey" areas so we can see what your metal work will entail. Nice lookin so far! And yes I feel you on the"life gets in the way" - mine is 90% done but I just get to let it sit there for the same reasons... Twisted Evil

You will find that replacing the drivers side heater channel is way easier than patching it. Typically what you can see rust wise is no where as bad as what you can't see. Good starting point for welding.

I am sure you are right 56reddy, once I get back home and have a better look at it I am sure I will be replacing both. I have the two heater channels already.

Thanks for looking. Very Happy

Hello folks, once again I have been delayed by change of work location and ended up moving back to Ontario. New house, to us anyway, renovations on that and getting ready to build a new garage there. Garage should be built in August then I can move my 54 into the new garage. finally will get back to repairs on the body. Sorry for all the delays, hang in there. Rolling Eyes

On another note I picked up a 1967 (mostly original) daily driver which needs some finishing work on it. I think it should only take a couple of days to get it finished so not intending on spending a lot of time on it just want to drive it. Attaching a pic of it day I bought it, but to see more check out my gallery. Cool

More pics to come of the 54. thanks for following. Very Happy

I just stumbled across your build.,I'm so thankful for all your photos! This is going to be a great reference to me.
My pan and front end are just about ready to go to the body shop and my engine and tranny are going out sometime in the near future for rebuilds.

This was very motivating!

Hello Charmaine's54, thanks for writing. I am in a bit of a lull in working on the 54 but will get back at the body work in the near future. You will have to send me some pics of your 54.

Cheers, Mike

I'm quite a bit behind you but I've only had the car for 5 weeks. Wink
This winter I hope to have pan/front end rebuilt and in the summer we'll hopefully get the rebuilt engine/tranny back on.

I moved again (last time) last year and had to build a new garage last fall. Getting around to finishing the inside this spring. Did a bunch of decorating and finished my 55 dashboard radio, the one speaker is in the grill, second one in an old suitcase hanging on the wall. Done working on the 67, almost done the prep work on the garage, now I can get back to working on the 54.

Mike, that new garage is way too clean. You'll need to to build another garage where you can do the dirty work on the '54... Laughing

It looks that way Joey, but first day I was in it last fall, the 67 leaked oil all over the floor, well broken in, lol. Almost ready for metal bashing.

Laughing
