not 100% complete, but most of the hard to find tools are there!

What are the big "ring pliers" in the upper right hand corner used for? I believe they are Hazet 526. I just picked up a pair of these, but cannot determine their use. I was originally thinking they were for the big snap-rings that hold the axles / fulcrum plates in a VW transmission.

I came across similar 760 pliers with handle bars quite close to each other. It appears that the 760 design was changed about 1960 to this style and earlier ones have handle bars considerably farther apart. Can anyone confirm this or were the pliers just a bit different from batch to batch?

Here is a picture of my pliers:
Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

They are in very good shape, obviously not bent and the bolt is not worn at all.

Early label seems to have pliers with handles farther apart:

a later label (1962?) has the handles closer to each other:

The later version of 760 with large HAZET lettering (post 1965) again has the handles more apart as does 760-3 like the earlier versions.

Comments please.

Don't know about this but I grab a couple of tools from my kits. One with the "L" and one without. Will need to check out some of my other ones as well.

I picked up this Hazet Tourist yesterday... I think it's 52-55... because it has a single ended large box-end, 7x8 small wrench, felt (not flock)

Edit 1/18/2016:
With some help from mikeandkirsti... I'll be getting the correct 760 pliers for this kit with the "L" line under the Hazet brand.

Here's some info Mikael shared:
Your kit is from about 1954 to 1955. The short stubby screwdriver and 7X8 and 10X12 wrenches were introduced for 1953 when the Zwitter came out. 1952 tools have 7X9 and 10 mm and 14 mm wrenches and only two screwdrivers.

The 12 mm wrench cannot be used in an earlier Split as there are no 12 mm nuts or bolts used. That makes your kit definitely 1953 or newer. I think that these kits became more common around 1954-55 when exports to the US picked up speed.

In late 1955 the 764 spark plug wrench was made longer to 113 mm, I think yours is still 111 mm making it mid 1955 or earlier. I think that the felt was dropped by early 1956 too. You have the wrong 760 pliers (much newer) but rest of the tools seem correct.

Those are probably missing the return spring that goes between the lower two "tits" on the inside of the handles.

A bit rust inside, but not to bad I think Smile

Anyhow I find it a bit to big for where I have it, so not sure if I might sell it and buy something else.
Was offered an old "assistant" (the bigger one with 4 rooms) plus about 200 euros for it, but I'm not sure what it's worth? I cant find another one like it for sale, and I saw one earlier advertised for 690 pound if I don't remember wrong. Can anyone estimate a price on this thing?

Not sure if I'm going to let it go thoug, but the assistant and money is a bit tempting as I can have good use of that assistant Smile But in the next year I'm going to redo the "hobby room" in the house and if I change the plans a bit ther will be room for the 100, I think .... hmm... Hard to know what to doo, but It cannot sit wher it's at now forever .

Then there is one more question to you guys (and girsl?), I found this vise with the hazet tools I got, but I do not know if it's an hazet? It does not have any markings as I can find, but then again it's small and used. anyone?

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Thankyou.
And I would really appreciate any feedback on value of the 100 Smile

@ lite:

too bad that a previous owner had damaged the doors. Probably to open the drawers to be able, without the doors unfold far enough.

In this state, it will perhaps be worth € 200.

@ all: Smile

I could not find this Hazet-box in any catalog. It is probably a "Hazet 1000". Does anyone know the correct content?
