We have been putting our suspension on manx's for several years and thought it was time to try a baja bug. Here is our first attempt at our version of a baja bug. We will have it displayed at the sand show in costa mesa in a few weeks, so please come by and check it out.

The chassis will run $7000 complete with front and rear arms and seat mounts, steering mount, hanging pedal mount, and 10 deg trans mount.

The buggy in a box kit will be $17,000, and will include
chassis
fiberglass hood and rear fenders
wheels and tires
pedals
shocks
brakes
seats
belts
headlights and tailights

You will need a donor car
drivetrane
wireing
plumbing
color
time, unless we finish it

That's a good price. Whether they do it or you order your own parts its about the same. Steve and the guys do a great job on the fit and finish. The car looks great guys!

Glad to see your making a baja version. How do you think the front end will hold up to the ruff stuff? Any changes on the front arms?

Hey steve, Thanks for the good words.
We have about 35 to 40 of these front ends out there, and to my knowledge have never bent or broken a arm or spindle. We do offer an upgraded 4 piston front brake option now.

See the big problem is that your product is old school and outdated. I am currently building a long travel kit for the Hyundai Accent! You bug people need to get with the program! J/K your stuff is top notch for sure!

GOOD choice on making the kit for a baja. If I wasnt already working on my current project http://www.desertrides.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9708&start=750 (shameless plug) I would have one of these in the garage for sure! I might give you a call shortly for a pre-runner...... Keep up the great work!

This bug package will take you guys to the next level for sure!

LOL, the turtle will be ready for Parker for sure. Im riding shotgun in the Zorba TT in Decembers race. It was a tough choice, class 5 or Trophy Truck.....emmmm ok. You gonna make it to the parker race? Pit party at our place!

Im pump'd about this new baja setup. Very streetable and O so much fun in the dirt. Hey Scott, when you say you need a donar car does it need to be part of the build portion in cali? Or is it something that we can mount everything to once the chassis is complete?

Hey Steve. It's real similar to the manx, you have to cut in front of the pedals and weld a few things to the torsion housing, so it's definetly something you could handle.

I'm still working on it, but hears the basics:
18" front travel
20" rear travel
105" wheelbase
79" rear track width
77" front track width
13' tip to tail

cage is set up to accept many motor combos from 4 to 8 cyl.
comes with a 10 deg bus mount, but there is plenty of room for a larger trans (mendeola, auto, ect)

cage is .095 DOM (chromolly is a $700 upgrade)
all suspension components are 4130 chromolly.
