This thing is beautiful. Truly a work of art.

One thing I want to ask. You have put so much work into making the body metal. Why not go all the way and create a split dash?

And why an oval dash...

I think the guy said that's the deal they made with the Hebmuller family. They would number them, starting where the old Hebs ended, and make them with the oval dash.. So basically continue the production as where Hebmuller left it????

That's just what I heard..

Thank you for the compliment!

Actually it was not a matter of going all the way. Beleave me when I say we went "all the way" on this car.

The car is a 53. Not only is that the correct dash for a 53, it is a very rare dash that was produced in a vary narrow window of 53. Every part of this car (the pan, body, dash, transaxle, and even wheels) are all matching numbers right down to a specific month, week, and day of construction.

Oh. I understand the concept.

Can we see pictures of the production? or is it a trade secret?

For that money IŽd buy an original.

(Beside that I never could spend that much for a car.)

To put this car in context I remember a few years back there was a beautiful Auburn boat tail speedster at the Pebble Beach Concours. I found out later that the car had begun life as a four door sedan and everything from the cowl back was less than 6 months old. I wonder if the same person that owned the Auburn bought it.

Interesting going back and reading this thread, now 4 years old since the core of the discussion. All of the commentary and speculation.

So what happened? One car was built, it was Roger's? It was in the classified's for a couple years maybe, last posting at $99k? Are/have any more been built?

Just wondering....

Yes, more are built. I know a couple. Roger made at least another one. I know at least one in the States, one in the North of europe, and a couple in the home land Germany. I also know a couple of potentional buyers. And a lot of people who want one.....but due to the wrong color did not order one. Embarassed

I know of one being built here in SoCal, and it will be far nicer than Rodger's IMO.
