It was constructed in Copenhagen in 1959. Demolition began in Bombay in Sept 1982.
That ship's home port was Oslo. I wonder if the cars were being loaded or unloaded. That ship would be considered very inefficient for transporting vehicles by today's standards.
This is what an ocean going vehicle transport ship looks like now. A ship like this can hold 5500 cars.

Where there is a will, there is a way. I once had my 250R three wheeler backwards in a Toyota Starlet just to make it to Glamis one Thanksgiving. It was hanging half way out the back with the hatch tied down over the front end.
