I received formal acceptance from the city of Lake Forest for our group to participate. Since we are a conglomeration of club and non-club buses we are just called "VW Bus Friends" as our entry name. Any more of you "friends" like to join in? It's always fun and we can go to In-N-Out afterwards for a righteous group shot and post it on the "Your bus at In-N-Out" thread here on the Samba.

Went to the city meeting last night. We are #74 this year. The car club wrangler said the buses are always the crowd favorites. We will meet at the usual primary check-in as before then be guided to our staging area as before. 5 freeway to the El Toro offramp, head east to Toledo Way, turn left and check in at Toledo and Killy. Our car club staging is at Toledo and Ridge Route. Bring your decorations and $5.00 for the Kiwanis Pancake breakfast at El Toro High School right near our staging area. Even though we are #74 in the parade lineup we should still be there circa 8-ish. The lead bus will need to have a closed passenger windshield to put on our ID decal for the TV coverage and the announcer. Who wants to be first?

der, we were towards the back last year and they did say at the meeting they alternated it IF THEY COULD but the order for 2013 is now cast in stone. I'll bring it up for next year and see if they'll give us the front for the next two. We'll miss you.

Everyone got their decorations and buses and patriotic outfits ready? Let's meet close to 8-ish, that will give us time to eat pancakes and decorate unhurriedly and revel in our bus-bitcheness. Bring lots of water!!!!

Lake Forest 4th of July Parade!!!! Good turnout of 8 buses (??????, why do you other guys skip this one!) and when Evan's bus broke down on the parade route as he was driving with his new church they ditched him! After Shawn came to the rescue he just drove around the block to join our group! hahahahahaha We went for lunch at the Foothill Ranch In-N-Out, lost a few buses for the photo shoot, but got the first pics of buses in an In-N-Out drive-thru (after Suebug asked the manager's permission of course). A fun day with great people! And you should've heard the commentary on TV! Hopefully Dave24 can come to this site and post our little bit of video!

It was a great time, Sue! Thanks for taking the reins this year. I hope that I'm in town next year to do it again!
