looks good Hebster52! Looks like you are using stainless steel.
I have a general question for the forum.

Why, or why not make an exhaust from aluminum?

Most aluminium qualities dont work due to the vibrations. They will wear out pretty fast and start cracking.

Yes, I use stainless steel. Wink

Finally got myself to the garage again after a few weeks off due to becoming a dad once again 2 weeks ago. Very Happy

Tied some fine stainless steel mesh around the perforated tubes.

Then started filling it with bike muffler glasswool.

Needed some bickering before I got all the fibers on the inside of the muffler.

Finished the exhaust today. Just one little seam I couldn't weld from the underside will be next time I go to the garage.

Now I just need to mount the cables so I can teststart the engine.

Kristian, wondering if you could post some info on material specs (tube size, perforated sheet hole size, wire mesh info, length of straight tube used) and total cost for this exhaust?

Dont remember specs on meshs etc. Took what I could find. I think the tubes were 38mm.

Wish I caught this thread early but the TIP where the pipes come together, if you are racing this car that design you used is great, BUT if you are driving it around town, it won't run good. You need the tubes from 1 & 4 to come together in the collector tip to be separated from 3 & 2. Remember firing order is 1432 so for good low end performance you need #1 to be pushed out by #4 and #3 to be pushed out by #2 and it will still run almost as good as all together at WOT. With your skill, if you find I'm right you can still cut the tubes before the collector and change it. You must be a welder as that work is beautiful. The out side of the collector tip will still look the same but the inside will have a plate separating 1 & 4 and 3 & 2 from each other.

I'm not a welder at profession. Smile

I was aware of the 1+4 and 2+3 combinations from the start but all in all after reading a lot about this it appeared to not be as important as to keep the primarypipes the same lenghts in this case... It would become a totally different design if I tried to combine 1+4 and 2+3. If you look at this photo you see that 1 and 3 connects first at the center and 2 and 4 just a bit later on the outside. This also creates a whole different rumble than normal exhausts on the market. To get any advantages from combining 1+4 and 2+3 ther should have been a venturi right after the collector too.

If it would make a big difference I would expect that the Sebrings on the market today also would have taken the cylinder combinations into conciderations too..
This Tiger built exhaust do even have uneven lenghts on the primarypipes...

All I can say is the design I used run good in everyday use too. Very nice and quiet at low rpm. Lot more noisy at high rpm... Smile
Ran smooth through out the full rpm range.
