I like Wagoneers Before I bought my Beetle, I had about ten thousand other dream cars...they changed a lot xD I remember that at one point I wanted a Wagoneer. I've actually recently become interested in them again. Not for off-roading though. It could be a good family car 10 years or so from now haha _________________ 74 Super Beetle w/1500SP - project.

Being a manual trans, you could just have a tail shaft bearing going out.
That lets the driveshaft wobble. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Makes sense. This would make EVERYTHING vibrate. _________________ 1966 Beetle project |

I have no idea about the trans. etc. I am not into Jeeps really, I just really drive it - because my wife wanted it. I took it to a rep. shop and there are issues. I have yet to look at what they pulled out, as I have been swamped at the office. _________________ Even YOU can prevent FIRES!

It's been a little over a year and a half since I bought these things, but yesterday I finally got the tubes mounted. Looks ok, just need some 33s now. Q tec sells rear flat stlye flares, they are on my list.
everything still fits under the hood. You have to massage the A/C lines and futz with the CAI..

2000 xj with 136xxx bought it a year and a half ago with 93k on it.
All I have done is replace tires, front rotors, pads and complete rebuilt the rear drum brakes. Other than that and changing all fluids when I bought I haven't had any issues at all. Daily driven 80 miles to and from work. This engine just gets stronger and stronger. I believe they have an issue of the head cracking but I have not experienced this.
Not one bit of rust on this northeast rig !!! They do have a tendence of the ass end swinging out on you in harsh driving conditions but I just add a bit of weight back there in the winter and evertyhing is fine. Wife hates it as the back seat is tiny but my passengers can suffer as this rig seems un breakable _________________ Whos got my heady westy

My wife has always wanted a jeep. I really want a weekend mud toy. Do you see where this is going?
It's not going to happen until I get done with nursing school, but I'm really thinking of finding a couple of YJ? (square headlight Wrangler) bodies, and cutting/grafting them into a 4 door body. Stick an LS1/auto in it, coilovers, 1 ton axles, and 35-38" mud tires. Something that she can drive on weekends or occasionally to work, but mainly to have fun in the mud on the weekend. No top, no A/C, no carpet etc.
Can anyone point me towards a good all around Jeep forum so I can start my research? _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

My little bro has a Jeep Wrangler. His girlfriend also has one. They both are red Jeeps. Something has been wrong with hers for a few months, electrical. So, he's been driving my 1983 4WD Toyota pick up. The guy at the local shop yesterday finally said he's done at trying to figure out her wiring problem, was putting it back together and not charging her for anything. They cannot figure out the wiring problem.
My brother hates that thing (his Jeep)...says, "It's like driving a tent." He wants me to sell my Toyota to him....umm....no way!
I just want my Toyota back, but since he works on the mountain aka ski resort, he needs a 4WD to get there because his g/f has been driving his Jeep to get to work. What a mess. _________________ Like us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/MotherLodeVWClub

You cannot post pictures in The Samba Gallery unless it has VW content. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Yeah, I really don't get rock crawling. We have VW powered rail buggies and it's too much fun flying through the woods to mess with crawling over rocks.
We're getting a jeep to play in the mud in Florida, and there's lots of places with mud to ride. _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

My daily driver is a 07 Wrangler X 2dr. I just put in a 4" lift a couple of weeks ago. _________________ 65 Bug
