Nice looking vehicle, Cully. Sits just right.

I'm sold: I'm a-swabbing the Bus down with linseed oil- got a little over two gallons out to the shed- for some of that lo-sheen action and rust inhibit-osity.

Go for it! Smile Might re-coat mine before winter storage...

Slathered on a fresh springtime coat of linseed oil. Never got around to it last fall.

Maybe polished 5-spokes in the future, but I love the black / bright white with the turkis.
Other than general maintenance, plans are to drive the crap out of it. I have a single cab that is basically collecting dust because this thing is so fun to drive.

Another successful driving season is drawing to a close here. Put lots of miles on her this year. I didn't have to do any major work, but it's time for a new throw-out bearing and I'm planning to install a longer clutch arm at the same time.

I let my brother practice his pinstriping skills on it recently. This is the first car he's done. I like it!

Is there a trick to applying linseed oil. I have some for my bus but i have not tried it yet. Do i need to knock the surface rust down a little? What do you rub it down with?

You can pour it right over the rust. It doesn't matter.
I usually just pour it right on the car and rub it in with a rag. I try to plan it so there are a few hot sunny days in a row so that the oil can "bake on". It'll lose its stickiness and last longer.

I was able to strip my replacement fender down to OG turkis this last week using no-name oven cleaner and #0000 steel wool. I then wet-sanded the whole thing with 600 grit sandpaper to even everything out.
The paint / funk underneath matches this side of the car pretty well, so I'm happy with it!

I think that's aprox. 6000 miles since June of 2010, depending on odometer accuracy.
It is now in hibernation until warmer days.

Next year is a possible clear coat. I met a guy that volunteered to teach me how to paint with a professional setup, all I need to do is supply the materials. It may not happen, though, since I used silicone spray to install the windows. Some discrete testing will be in order.

Lots of trips already planned for this spring and summer!

Well, it's been 4 years on the road.
I finally had to buy a set of rear tires.

I could have rotated these around but they were freebies anyway. I've also gone through a couple of throwout bearings and axle boots, but other than that, smooth sailin'.
Just got back from a 400-ish mile round trip for a show in Iowa. She ran flawless as usual, and I'm pretty proud. Someone snapped this pic there:
