Judging by the engine hatch. I would say that is not a 72. But maybe they used two different types that year.

Late 72 could have that hatch, but it looks like it doesn't have the nubs for the bumper splash guards so probably a 73. |

this engine hatch is from a '75 up late bay. with the plastic black cover on the lock points to a '78, if I'm not mistaken
a '72 (from January to July '72)
