I always seem to just miss them - every time I call or email about a steal, it's usually been stolen already.
although I did get a pair of barely-worn Carhartts in my size for $15... _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

I picked up a several sets of grocery store (really sturdy) shelf racks for free.
They were quickly filled with Squareback parts in the garage. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L

i got a very nice Sigg Tourist kit with an SVEA 123 from the original owners. the price was less than what they sell for on ebay, so i felt good about it. when i met the woman to buy it, she showed me how to use it, and told me all kinds of stories about their adventures using the kit. it was pretty cool. _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

I love craigslist, it keeps my car running. So far I've scored an MSD 6A box and small 8k tach for $100, MSD 6AL box for $40, a close ration tranny with starter for $150, a slightly used 1600sp built on a brand new case for $200, an almost brand new $400 Pioneer head unit for $100, a complete '65 baja with title and 1500sp for $300. Took the motor out of that one, along with the fenders, glass, shifter, steering wheel and sold the rest for $200. Motor lasted a year with two top end rebuilds with used parts but by the time I pulled it everything in it was toast.
We actually just tore it down, if it wasn't my motor I would NEVER have believed it ran when pulled. End play was so bad there was 1/8" of metal taken away from any place the crank touched, cam/lifters were toast along with every bearing in the motor and both sp heads were cracked. Oh, and a wrist pin clip came loose and grooved a cylinder. Thing burnt so much oil the entire inside of the car filled with smoke to the point passengers thought we were on fire. Still, it lasted me for a year with maybe $300 total into it along with both rebuilds(started as a 1500, went to 1600 then 1641), started, ran and got me where I needed to go every time I asked it to. |

Just bought an 08 Tacoma from an old timer. He was the original owner with 8300 miles on it. A friend of his listed it for him. He had it advertised as an 07 (cause he bought it in 07) and the title of his ad just said "pickup truck". I got it for at least 2K under book.
I just got a sweet 42x72" piece of glass to make a dining room table out of for $100. I had to take the whole, nasty 80's set and trash it, but the glass was well worth it.
I got a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick for $2400 with 89K original miles on it. I put a clutch in it and it'll be up for sale soon. It books for around $3500. It's really clean if you're looking... 25MPG and a 4X4.
I got a gas weedeater brand new for 10 bucks.
I got a fireplace cover that I probably won't use.
White leather couch/ love seat/ chair and ottoman for $1200. I'm not sure how good a deal those were, but my wife really liked them.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. |

I scored a time or two from CL!
Recently it was a bed for my GMC 3500, $100, rust-free.
CL is great for getting rid of stuff, too. Occasionally I get jobs cleaning out attics and garages. I can't tell you how many big bulky items are saved from the dump just by posting them there as free. People just die for free stuff, yet the favor is truly to me.
I also love giving away kids bikes, clothes and toys.
I post wanted ads for secondhand boxes to use for internet sales. I'll grab good bikes from the dump just to post on CL for free.
I even launched in-home cooking classes to teach the basics of soups stocks, sauces and entrees. That's been a lot of fun.
I read recently that E-Bay is minority stockholder in Craigslist and has heen hassling CL for its free ad/no sellout vision. I am glad the CL founder has stuck to his guns and avoided the siren call of selling out.
It reminds me of Everett. _________________ Each day is precious. |

My wife bought a new top of the line jogger/stroller about a year and a half ago for $340 shipped. Well now my son wants to walk on his own and never rides in it.
I put it on CL and sold it last month for $300.
More room in the garage too. |

It was mis-spelled 'Volkswagon'. The guy didn't have 'vw' in the listing either. He wondered why he only had a few calls on it in the month it was for sale. _________________ www.DenverWildlifeControl.com |
