Listen to it run for the first time that I have owned it. 3 years. It has been a struggle but it is sporting an original 71 bus case. Second cut on mains and 1st cut on thrust. Starts with about one full turn of the flywheel. Forgot a lot about engine building and learned some new things as well. BNNTA, here I come.

Attached rear bumper from Harrington. Very happy with the quality, fit and finish. Just had to drill the holes. Bolts purchased from the Bus Depot.

Today for the first time since I have found this Westy I got to drive it. New clutch cable and bowden tube and all is good. Rear off ground and all gears are smooth and quiet.

Picked up a cool scarf at my local" Dollar Tree", to use as a dash cover, while parked.
I noticed that my drivers side visor was hanging, due to the original retainer failing. So I decided to do a repair job on it.
Cut some thin galvanized sheet metal to fit.
Used electrical tape to protect the paint from the protruding screws, and it's back in business, till I can replace it.
Quick simple fix. Wanted to share.

Had a couple of torn CV joint boots, so pulled the axles, cleaned and repacked them all, and put on 2 new boots.

Thanks to RobinRetro of Chatfield, MN for the new spare tire cover AND the reupholstered vanagon seats. My butt thanks you! Also had new wheel arches welded in....paint in the next couple of weeks.
Then on the way home I finally had to stop and ask about a small trailer I had passed a dozen times over the years. "Yeah, my wife said I should just sell it....kids aren't interested anymore." It's an Appleby pop up and the canvas is perfect. Now I can sleep up to 8!

Finally picked up my tires and replacement rocker and rear wheel panels at the Bus Depot. Slowly making progress to getting mine back on the road! _________________ The bag isn't for what I'm taking along. It's for what I find along the way! MacGyver |
