What's it worth? A guy on this side of the pond recently paid $40K for one in worse shape.

How ever much anone wants to pay for it. It's very difficult to put prices on messed up BD Deluxes. This bus may be fairly solid but it's missing lots of the correct parts which will be very expensive to put right if correct parts are a must for you

I can't see if fetching more than $40K...who knows. It is a fickle market.

I purchased that bus in San Juan De Los Moros, just south of Caracas Venezuela, it is a 3rd owner bus, I drove that bus from Caracas to Bogota Colombia.....the current owner drove it from the U.K. to Bad Camberg, the person I bought it from drove all over South America, it is probably one of the most traveled BDs out there.........that bus is missing a lot of the deluxe specific parts....but it is a very early 53 , it is a deep skylight deluxe, with a lot of of pre 53 deluxe metal features, it's an honest bus, descent starting point for a restoration, I have see far worse BD deluxes go for the same amount, or more.....it is one of those, jump in and drive type of situations, restore it later, or not...... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

That is the reason it hasn't sold though right? Not really taking the piss, but just pointing out it might be over priced.

Was it that hideous color when you bought it? Also, I don't see any semaphores. Were those not used on South American buses?

it was already that disco orange color when I bought it. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ...if look in the engine bay, and under the headliner, you can still see the original paint...it still has the original belly pans, doglegs, jack points etc...the roof is intact under the fiberglass cover that they put over the ragtop hole, it still has all the large logo sekurit glass on it, original bumpers, front and back, jairbars, pop outs etc.etc.....that is the one bus I wish I would have kept...but, like I have said before, keeping the shop doors open is more important.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ...about the semaphores, most of the buses down here have had those welded up, along with the sunroof hole....those parts are not exactly abundant items down here........ Very Happy Very Happy

You gotta wonder what someone was trippin' on when they chose that color...and how they determined that it is "disco"...

Actually,it was Lind who coined that famous phrase(the disco bus)...I had that bus listed for sale on the samba a couple of years ago....I caught a lot of shit over that bus (price wise)...now you see a total piece of shit BD for sale on this, or other sites, with crazy prices, and no one says much....it's the market I guess....the market dictates what these buses are worth......

It's been sitting for awhile. $54K is probably too high today. In a year or two that will be a bargain. Another $30 to $40K to restore it properly and one might be able to stay rightside up.

huummm. Can you find one cheaper? I can't think of one that has sold in over a year at a price like that. I think it's a deal, but i don't think the UK is step'n up to the new DLX barndoor prices. No a knock on the UK, just the facts. If you think you payed to much today, just wait to see what they go for in 10 more years!!!! Very Happy
