Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between a "Gasthof" and a "Hotel"? _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Gasthof & Hotel difference.
Gasthof is more of a Restaurant and drinking local where one can socialize.
May have a few rooms. Perhaps the English Pub is similar.
Hotel is more of a place to stay overnight with restaurant.
Its restaurant depends on the size of the hotel. Small hotels will normally only have breakfast available.
Any other thoughts. |

that is a pretty good explanation.
in a hotel all services are usually for the checked in guests.
a gasthof is much like a restaurant, and they may or may not have rooms. I am pretty sure i have been to gasthauses that did not rent rooms, in fact my parents used to have one. _________________ regards
