I'm looking for a CAD model of a Vanagon. I'm a Maya user but I can
probably make an Autocad or 3DS Max model work.

thanks,
john

This isn't a T3 Vanagon, but still pretty trick. Paper models are kewl. I'm sure if you spend enough time googling, you'll find the same for a T3.

Found here...

I think Bubs put together a start. Not CAD, but some kind of 3D modelling software.

Here are some more. At least the plans are 2D which can be redrawn into a CAD program. Brings back days of working in Autotrol on Apollo DN3000s... Now I spend most of my drawing time designing logos in Adobe Illustrator, nice. Would be great to see what you've done when it's ready.

The bad news is that the guy that created that rendering posted that he's moving and might not have Internet access for a few months - that seems to be the case.

I remember there being one or two within Google Sketchup... It's free, and kinda fun to play with.

I played with this prog. a while back. You apply points to a photo (more than one, at different angles) and obtain a 3D rendering. The trial version does not allow to use your own photos.

lol, pritty funny !

Chris, it's just a 3D Studiomax message board and some dude is modeling a Vanagon.

I built a Datsun 510 once in "Choro Q" style...the goal was to turn it into a paper model. never got 100% there. but I'm gonna do a Crew Cab Transporter when I get a new computer. I used Milkshape a programe made by a swiss guy ($20 to register) for the modeling, Photoshopto paint the texture and Tenkai (also $20 to register) to turn the 3Dmodel into a printable paper model.
