Funny you should ask....
I took the day off today and got my 66 Squareback ready for winter storage and took her over to a friend's shop to spend the salt season. This frees up a bunch of space in my own garage/shop to work on the Sled over the winter. Going to get out there tomorrow and do some clean up and re-arranging so I can get back at it. It has been too long.
Stay tuned... |
I guess that means you got the cabin buttoned up for the year too.
Rob's been working on the "Pile"the last few weekends. He's making great progress. I probably should post up some pics of his progress to the forum in his thread. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Not really.....
...but now that the 2016 Type 3 Invasion is wrapped up, it is time to get back at it. Give myself a new goal to have it driveable for the next Invasion in 2 years. Get out in the garage more. Renew my interest and drive to finish it. All that good stuff. _________________ Later,

The last time I saw it was back in June or July right before John and Jill were heading out somewhere. It was sitting off to the side of the garage gathering dust. John as usual was busy with a 100 other things going on right before heading out. I will say that the body was back on the pan (prior last time seeing it they were separated) and the inside of the car was painted white (or it had white primer, don't know which). The engine was sitting behind it under a work bench, and it was sitting on all 4 tires. I'd have to look, but I thought I took a couple of pics. Either that, or Rob did, as we were there getting some carbon fiber cloth from John, for Rob's roof project (which still hasn't started). Don't know if John got back on to it since then, as he was gathering engine parts to rebuild Sophy's (his 66 Squareback) engine which was on an engine stand partly built. I figure he'll probably be working on getting it finished and back in the car, so it can go to Alabama this year (for the 2018 T-3 Invasion). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Bob has it about right. It is not quite gathering dust as I have done some little things with it in the last few months. Still plugging away, but nothing worth posting about.
Sophy's engine is done and ready to go back in. Will be done in plenty of time for the run to the Invasion. _________________ Later,

Cool. Glad to hear you've done a little to it, and got Sophy's engine built. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Well that is unfortunate. It was one of the reasons I started hosting the pictures on my own website so the links wouldn't get broken with policy changes to things like PhotoBucket and such. Glad you can still click on them and see them, but that is a pain.
They do show up just fine using Safari. _________________ Later,

If you can upgrade your site so that it works with https:// instead of http:// they will all appear again... and it will be secure too. |
I just did this so hopefully the photos will not appear automatically and you wont have to click on them to see them.
Can any verify that that is the case? _________________ Later,

Unfortunately not much has happened on the Sled lately. Other projects/priorities have gotten in the way. The good news is that I am only a year or two from retirement (hopefully) and if it is not done by then, it will be my first priority. G<> _________________ Later,

I've got to say that when I started on page 1 earlier today, I was skeptical. But, I wound up seeing your early artist rendering, and naturally I continued to follow through the process.
This thing is amazing. I am absolutely in awe of your vision and work. Even though it's not complete yet, you should be so proud. _________________ 1964 Type 3 Notchback
