I looked through this thread and haven't seen a combo I have been thinking about. Since centerlines are so pricey I'm wondering what a chrome wheel like this http://www.cip1.ca/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC10%2D1023 would look like with this chrome center cap. http://www.cip1.ca/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC10%2D6574

Dam, that looks sharp! Shocked Thanks guys.

Can I ask the offsets you are using front and back, width as well. This is definitely the way I will be going. Cheap.... cheaper, and looks killer.

Agreed. Centerline Convos are the baddest wheel out there. Cool

I had 5 star wheels like the buggies above but 4 lug made by custom commercial wheels. I will post a photo when I get our buggy back from getting seats made.

Those centerlines are hot!! Shocked

With the help of donmac and lostinbaja's pictures I decided to go with the steel chrome off road rims with caps. Very afordable!

Summit aluminum stars. They're not as cool as convos but more affordable.

PostPosted: Sat Jul 25, 2009 9:40 am    Post subject: wheels and adapters Reply with quote

I just bought my first buggy, I have it home and looking at the wheel tire combo it's not the look I want and like many of you not sure where I want to go. I have combed through this thread yet unclear as to what I want to run. The car is listed as a '69 but has 4 lug drums and it's a swing axel. The tires on it right now are running 4- wide five adapters and I have never been a fan of adapters. How many of you opt to run them? How many of you just switch out the brakes and backing plates or how many just run 4 lug?

The rear tires are huge on this thing and I'm planning on making it a street lowered buggy only. I have no desire to hit the sand so for that combination what do you street guys run. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks

My buggy is on a swingaxle pan and was wide five all around. when I switched over to 4 wheel disc brakes, I opted for the four lug pattern to fit the wheels I already had.

The buggies my dad built when I was younger both used wheel adapters to run the chrome Cragars. no real issues with either buggy.
