Great shot, whats going on with the Deluxe trim ? has rocker and bumper trim and corner windows but no belt line trim ?! That original for 52 ? |
Interesting question, let us start with the IAA Frankfurt in April 1951:
There we have dlx belt trim, rear bumper trim and antenna.
On the Porsche bus I cannot see one of them.
The Horrak bus has the rear bumper trim but no atenna.
So I would suspect that we can see three different buses.
In this thread you can see a firemax bus, another bus without belt trim.
I had a closer look at the Horrak bus, and found some damage in the rear area, which should be unusal for a bus, not older than a year

If your talking about the dent on the Beltline that is from the rubber which is on the rear cargo door not using the check strap this is what happens _________________ (20-024785)Ambulance (20-037784)truck (20-035850)panel

This was posted to the gallery today, not sure if it's a new or old photo...though it does look familiar and shares Beavis and Butthead with the UK 51 15-window
Thought I would share here since is basically "the official barndoor 15-window thread"

wow!! thanks for sharing these, yes, this is the 20-017671, now in the UK... these pictures are from my Bad Camberg trip in 1995... first pic. is the Barndoor line-up, second was my 'campsite' for the night... I put the middle seat in reverse, against the bulkhead, some crates and a matras in the middle, and I had a little bed

(ps: Beavis and Butthead where handpainted !!) |

This bus is undergoing/undergone serious restoration work by one of the best and most meticulous barn door resto guys here in the UK. I can also ashore you that its going to be as close to "factory" as physically possible!! What I have seen so far is breath-taking considering how messed up it was, i.e. accident roll damage and years of horrific "behind the iron curtain" repairs!!

From the vintage photos thread. Please note sunroof and incomplete deluxe. trim. it's an odd ball. Might be coachbuilt or home brew? _________________ https://instagram.com/mr.ogpaint
