Thanks, I look at my car and I get a little overwhelmed. I have so much work left. But I go back and look at pics of what I started with and it keeps me going. I have a couple close friends that are also car builders that have helped push me in to the hole that I am in lol.
The part of the car I do not like is the cage on the inside of the car there is so much wasted space. After building my parts car. I and feeling how open and comfortable that cage is. I decided to cut to most of the inside of my car and build it the way I like it. Especially after all the money I have spent on my motor and trans. There is no reason to cut corners now.
So in a couple of weeks I will have pics of cutting out the cage the previous owner had installed.
And to get even more room in the car Im thinking of cutting out most of the tunnel |

Ha ha! yeah, because this has got to be one of the smallest bajas on the samba.
Or maybe you could just build one of these:

I also picked up crow 3 5 point belts for the car.
Over the weekend my friend and I started taking measurements on the car to lay out the new cage and we noticed that the rear torsion housing is bent Up on one side buy a good amount. Causing the camber on that side to be off. Not sure what I want to do with that yet. |

Update well not much of an update. I bought a new mig welder. I have spent the last couple of months working on the house. putting up fences and things.
Looking at the car real close i found the rear torsion housing is bent.
And I am planing on cutting 90% of the cage out and starting over. |

Oops I smell a "never get it done, never ending build, driveway full of eyesores neighbour, give up and sell it for pennies on a dollar" build thread here.

With in the next mounth I will start working on the car. I have almost all the parts I need . just need to get in there and start cutting.
On a sad note
A good friend of mine lost his mom two months ago. This last friday his dad pastaway. So I have been helping him take care of things. He has a rail fraim and a 66 bug cut for baja with papers. That we need to sell to help pay for expenses I will be posting them in the classifields soon. |
