my local paint jobber found the code for L351 Coral Red (56-58 beetle) from BASF.
this is for their UNO (single stage) line of paint:
color id: MS137584
solution id: CL682996
SC01 (base booster) = 89.5
SC77 (iron red) = 659.7
SC90 (white) = 813.4
SC10 (mixing clear) = 955.0
SC63 (chrome yellow) = 1044.6
SC25 (carbon black) = 1074.0
this will give you 1 quart of paint. _________________ "Broadsword calling Dannyboy"

For reference for anyone, the PPG code for Bahia Red ('71, L30E) is 71852.
I saw that on page 1 of this topic, someone had posted a link to a site where you can look them up. Don't mean to be redundant, but since it looks like a bunch of us missed that link, here it is again:

If you need any color information that was made with Glasurit, you have in their webpage all the mixin information, it's really easy to use.
You have to put in Manufacturer Volkswagen, then select the year and write the color in the "color name box", there are more options too.
Then you click in the search button and will show you the colors, click over the color you need the mixin, then below select Line and after that click in the "next button", you will have all the information you want!
I hope this help anyone

Hello,
I am finally ready for paint on my 56 ragtop after more than 5 years of "when I can weekends". I did a trade with a fellow that is the towns best paint and restoration guy and he will be painting it for no charge to me. Problem is we can not find a conversion from the Glasurit Polar Silver (L324) to Dupont paints. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has painted one in a close color and might have a corresponding code for me. Any assistance will be helpful as always. I will also post this in Oval section but wanted to post it here to cover my bases.
Thanks |

As there are a few on file, for Dove Blue. It would be best to take a piece with you to make sure they can mix the correct color. |
