I kinda think the "1600" emblem is from a Porsche 356. I'd put it together and roll it. With some patching. Probably easier than fixing rust.

It is a Porsche emblem. Too bad the donor wasn't sitting next to the single cab.
There are a few more pics of this truck in my gallery. The front third is pretty messed up. It would likely need a donor nose clip and cab roof to be made driveable again. Not impossible, but not likely worth the effort. _________________ nothing |

Take your sawzall and get after it |
I did just that yesterday and here are the results, can someone please tell me the year (from m-plate previously posted) and again if you see something of value to you let me know, I'll be posting ads in the classifieds soon. I'll get the steering wheel as an "art" piece. How about that transmission? or frame rails?? right rear quarter looks "useable" ? Sunroof is already spoken for. How about that odd gas heater ?

It was a 1965.
I didn't see the gas heater, but maybe one piece of rectangular ducting from an Eberspächer. It's probably pretty toasted, but might have a few saveable parts... plugs. _________________ aka: Evan

The heater on the floor of your 1970 looks to be a Southwind. Were the axles already cut? I would thing a real type 2 trans has a couple different gear from a bug trans. Somebody might want it.
How did you cut the car up, Sawzall? Looks like it went quite quickly. That car was pretty far gone.

Somebody would probably buy the rear floor just above the motor. I've seen some totally destroyed. Oddly that part fared pretty well.

You'll be kicking yourself in the ass 10 years from now. I know I am.
All the cool busses I've had now gone. Traded for money. Busses gone and the money doesn't hang around too long. Always goes somewhere.
I was thinking the same thing Ev. Those two do look alot alike. |

Great find sir. You just don't see those with just two popouts very often. _________________
