There was a widened bug (body not just fenders) on here at some point. That would have been a better way to go or more like doing some of both - widen body and fenders both. The proportions would have looked better - Otherwise kind of like the idea. Saw a later Corvair that was mated with an 90s Camaro a couple years ago. Camaro chassis and interior were well integrated and it almost looked factory. Takes a lot of work to pull that stuff of well. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

The first one might not be a Bus, I'm not sure. _________________ 1957 Beetle

Agreed, I tried to play "spot the VW part" but all I see is Bedford or some other brand. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Somehow, I like the integration of the graphics and the lights on this one. |

Can someone contact this guy for a side view of the Ghia/911? I dont have FB and that is the only way to see his pictures.

I have a few Polaroids from back in the day when I was going to put a 911 roof on a Ghia(I still have the 911 roof). I was going to use a targa door glass and frame. My plan was to change the Ghia door and door post to the same angle as a 911, so that it angles rearward instead of straight-up.
I hadn't thought about combining the ghia engine cover with a 911's cover.
I did do the side air intakes on my Ghia(it was going to be Suby powered)
Of course, it has been posted here several times _________________ Most people think that they are thinking....... but all they are really doing is rearranging their prejudices |

Yeah not convinced of VW origins, look at the wiper arms and external door hinges - surely even the craziest of customisers wouldn't go from hidden hinges to external? I think it's one of these;

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.
Do what you want. Ignore the elitists. Drive your VW. Enjoy life. |

Obviously the one large rear window wasn't hard enough to see out of, so they thought splitting it into two smaller ones would be better! |
