Spotted in Birmingham, Alabama on March 19th or 20th, 2016. Just another one I missed. What, 58 - 61?
Curious if it will get it's own thread or a mention in the hunting thread. I guess everyone doesn't hang out here - shame on them.

Looks like it could be a LH cargo door euro bus. Euro bumpers, front bullet/bigger rear light combo (might be euro lenses?). _________________ WANTED:

The pic is not reversed. Could be a double-door, RHD or euro bus with LH cargo doors as stated by StockNazi. Looks like a pointed bumper on the front and slash on the rear. Innie vents, lipped rear wheel arch and a thin front dogleg, but my monitor sucks...

I am no expert on DD buses, but I never noticed the handle is on the rear cargo door.

Cool |
For reference Paul this was discussed briefly in the Whines thread back on page 2183. Apparently VW used the same cargo doors for DD's and RHD buses rather than stamping mirror image doors. The handle is on the right cargo door regardless of which side of the bus it's on.

I've never seen a forward cargo door on the left side like the one in the bottom ad you posted. I think that is a custom door. I just looked thru tons of pics and all I see is the standard pass side door set up on the driver's side.

That is how my 63 DDPanel is on the drivers side. That one looks like a 62 to me.....non-outie vents and a flat wheel well panel. At least that how it looks on my screen....Mango?? Too Cool I want it! Also with the "driver side" door open I would say left hand drive. I want it ! |

Nice Westy with Safari windows being used by a vendor at the Alameda Point Antiques Faire in California this past Sunday, August 7th, 2016.
This is the enormous monthly antiques flea market held on the same tarmac that the show "Myth Busters" often had filmed their many car crash tests.
Saw several vendors with beat-up Bay Window buses too, but didn't photograph those.

'62 would have "outie" vents, so probably '63. _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

I saw this DC while heading to the camera shop. I drive this road semi often but have never seen the truck. It was in a reserved spot with an oil leak and stain on the ground that suggests it parks there at least semi often however. Guessing by its somewhat mossy appearance it looks to live outside and still serve as a work truck. There is a note on the dash that says "sorry, not for sale." Anyone know it? It's a neat truck.
My dog was stoked too.

Saw this one at the Portland show on Sunday, I think I saw it in Eugene on Saturday also but wasn't close enough to tell if it was the same one. |

The Bus above?
I agree it looks Mango to me.
It looks like a '61 to me.
Reasons:
Mango color (ended in 1961)
Bullet front turn signal lenses (ended in 1961, at least for USA)
Cargo door is low hinge. (1961 change)
Taillights look like larger 62-up style but maybe they were "upgraded" _________________ How to Post Photos
