I replaced the flooring in my 1968 bus
Sprayed rust converter on the floor prior to adding the subfloor. Then placed a underlayment on top of subfloor then floating vinyl planks on top. Took me about 15-20 hours over a couple days to finish. Now I can finally put my pieces back in!
What did you do today? |

Finally got this old girl registered. After a 2.5 year hiatus and a back yard respray I finally ironed most of the bugs out.
Took the time this week to make a glove box mount for the stereo, Then followed that with installation of an LED strip in the engine bay.
Fingers crossed I'll get some child restraints put in this month some time and take the kids for a spin.

Dang Nestor, looking good. That respray doesn't even look "backyard" to me. It does look kind of Miami Vice though. Those colors look like vacation mode to me. |

For some reason the colors reminds me of an icecream van.
Just needs a Tailgate tent installed and I'll take a holiday. Photos to be added! _________________ 1977 Microbus - Australian Import

A bunch of little things.
Best part - installed auxiliary battery charging relay.
Located a bay being parted out and picked up these OEM items in great condition.
Replace Dash vents to replace my crumbling and marred ones. Fresh air and heat vent covers(not shown).
Replaced door handles with cracked brackets for solid ones.
Replace cracked turn signal lenses with OEM (Hella) like new ones (not shown).
Replaced peeling and broken cab kick panels with solid ones covered in a thick faus black leather vinyl. Looks great!. Doubt these are OEM, no wiper reservoir sticker)
Replaced the catch that wasn't securing the camper table. Hope it works out. Had to pile crap against before, it to keep it from banging down the road. _________________ '74 Bay - ASI camper body w/'72 Bay - undercarriage and a '76 2000cc rebuilt engine

Insulation and PVC foam headliner (door panels are also carpeted PVC foam) |
Looks nice!
Where did you get the headliner? Was it pre-cut/scored or do you have a pattern? _________________ '74 Bay - ASI camper body w/'72 Bay - undercarriage and a '76 2000cc rebuilt engine

I know someone that would like a headliner like that one. Is there a pattern for the headliner. |

Awesome headliner. I am looking for something similar. Initially considered using some ABS sheeting like the Werksberg panels, but finding it locally is proving to be difficult.
More info on this pvc foam sheeting please... |

Hi,
My temp sensor II wire was messed up so I put in some new wire, but it runs horrible and dies often. Is there a certain type of wire that I should be using that sends a more accurate signal? |

The PVC sheet was from a local plastic supply store (P&A Plastic). My mom was in the sign business and this is where she would get coroplast, acrylic sheets, lexen and the like. Maybe a Google of "plastic supplies" in your area would turn up something. Just ask is they have PVC foam sheets in white (I think this was 3mm).
No pattern, just traced the old one (which was already a copy of the original one) and cut it with an exacto knife. Still needs a little trim where it meets up with the paneling, but it should outlast the bus.
It also makes fantastic kick panels _________________ 1979 Westfalia "FireFly" Subaru 2.2 with Subaru gears 5spd.

Thank you Captain for the info. I will see what is available in my area.
Maybe 2 years ago I cut new baltic birch sheets and glued on some nice headliner material from GoWesty. Sadly the glue has not held up on some pieces and am looking for a 'one-piece' solution for the long haul. |

I just installed a stock exhaust on my 71. I have never had a stock exhaust before. Every VW I've ever owned has had an aftermarket exhaust on it when I've bought it.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE.
If you are running a stock engine, run a stock exhaust. _________________ It will make it. Trust me.

I set up my bus tent. Took 20 minutes. It is huge. Can't wait to go camping.
