With courses, exercises and overseas trips I have been a little (lot) slack in keeping my build thread current.
The body of the bus is finished, inside painted and back on wheels. It is getting exciting as I can see the finish line. Once the body is painted I'll be bringing the bus home to finish her off.
Das Resto Haus Open Day 2013
The subtle tubs came out well.

Thank you. Somebody do an original custom, please. Enough of the same old same old. It has been done to death, do something new and original for god's sake! !@#$%^&*! |

Thanks for the comments.
Having just turned 21 this is a bus that I intend to keep for a long time. I have invested most of my money in ensuring I have a dead straight, rust free body in an original colour that can be returned to stock with minimal effort (small tubs are the only body mod).
I'm sure I'll get old one day and want to lift it up and have an original 57 RHD bus, but until then I can play with different images/styles for each part of my life.
I also have a 1967 Toyota Stout as a project which is original. So I have a bit of post war Germany and post war Japan.

I had the original speedo restored by Thorsten Schneider at Krautclassicparts. It came up awesome.

The bus is currently in the process of getting safari's fitted and installed. With a few final bits and pieces finished off over the next few weeks it will be ready for transport back home to Sydney.

So sharp and straight! Das Resto did another one here ( a red Kombi), very envious of their work and you have a nice bus. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Just cleaned out the garage to get setup for the next year for finishing the bus. Chucked the hubcaps on to see what it would look like. |
