have a chance to pickup a 2006 jetta needs head gasket
how tough
rebuild Bmw and vw mess around with volvo MB is it a pain in the arse or is it doable |

A blown HG generally doesn't just happen, something causes it. As for a tutorial, what motor and how hard could it be? Take the head off, put the head back on and align the timing marks. |

thanks it's a one owner 2.0? 2006 with 75k on the clock
did the ding bat over heat it could the head be wrapped?
he only wants $1500 for it looks good otherwise
looking for something for my 18y son my first was a vw 84 GTI |

Those 2.0 heads are pretty tough, but it would still be worth having the head checked at a machine shop. |

only draw back is this jetta is an auto I may try low ball him considering
may need a head or some other hidden problem and being an auto |

Is that a 2006 a mk5 with a 2.0 turbo? Blown head gaskets at 75k is unheard of, I'm seeing camshaft/high pressure fuel pump failure & timing chain failure (2.0ts have both timing chain & belt). _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

A Bently manual will be a great help too, as then you'll have TQ specs and some pics to work with. |
