Doing a dune buggy project and working on rear brakes, The special rear 5 - lug drums have no access hole toward the outer edge to adjust the brake shoes. Do I have to add hole to adjust and if so why didn't they think of it, thanks |

With no picture, no one is going to see how special those rear drums are.
Every wide 5 drum I seen has a hole for adjusting the brakes.
You could drill holes in the backing plates like what is done on VWs using 4lug drums. _________________ Joseph

They could be CB perf drums, seems like they had no holes on the face |

Ok, my curiosity is wanting to know more about 5lug drums with no adjusting hole in the face.
Could the OP be talking about some other bolt pattern then the wide 5 205mm bolt pattern?
Not knowing what year the buggy is or the parts being used, or a picture of such can lead to all kinds of speculation. _________________ Joseph

Yes the drums have no hole in front , but after looking behind the brake backing plate, through all the dirt and gunk I found two holes in which to adjust brakes, sorry |
