1968 early T2 Bay 1600cc LHD imported from USA to into UK.
Some 1971 parts and other parts fitted.

On the instrument panel there is a red light, maybe a switch, but have no idea what is does or should do. It isn't mentioned in the handbook.

I have attached a picture of it. Marked by the red arrow.
Hopefully someone can tell me what it is for?

The brake system warning light is described in later owner's manuals. In the middle of it is a bulb holder and bulb, which is the same
as used for other instrument panel illumination and warning lights.

early models are push to test, meaning you push the button and it should light up. That just tells you the bulb still works. If you push on the brakes and it lights up, then you have a fault in one of the circuits.

In 69 they moved the location of it, in 68 it's perfectly hidden behind the steering wheel Laughing
