Would this work? For those without air? I used mine on my gates and latches and then replaced all the screws with SS. Haven't gotten to the doors yet, but then I don't have a major rust problem in that area.

Combined with an air chisel and an impact bit set.

Bringing up an old thread but does anyone have a current link to this tool or the name of it?

Thanks!

I MIG welded some really large nails (1/2 thick) on to the heads of the screws and then took a wrench to the head that I had ground some flats on and they came out easily. The Thermal shock of being welded really helped and the point of the nail fit great in the mangled screw head.

Hey, if you don't have time to wait around for the tool than you can weld a hardened bolt to a c clamp and and then pop that sucker right out with a impact wrench. Of course you have to put a wrench or socket over the pin head so it can move. I got all mine out this way and they were in same shape as yours. Tool took 5 mins to make, think I used a 6" c clamp. Don't forget the PB blaster.

I've just dealt with some that were rusted solid from 40 years sitting. Trust me there was NO way the impact driver was getting them out, it sheared the "philips" right out of the screw heads. I used a 3/8" drill bit to remove the screw heads, which allowed me to pull the doors. Then center drilled each remaining stud with increasingly larger bits till I just touched the threads. Then an M8 tap cleaned the body threads the rest of the way. Tedious, but it works.
