The classifieds...

Pre-'62 used a different kind.
'62 -'67 used this kind....

If you don't have it, you'll need a steering column that's made to be used with a steering lock.

Buy a replacement 62-66 lock from the classifieds. When someone drills out or breaks out the key portion and the guts it basically means they broke it.
I would just replace it.

On 67 the lock cylinder is the same as 68 & later and can be changed. If the guts of the lock haven't be broken out.

The electrical portion you are holding can be easily replaced with two screws, but that is not the problem here.

You can use a regular non- locking ignition switch and install it just to get the bus going.

I already have non locking ignition switch, however I would like to instal the original one. Bus is from 1963. From classifieds you can buy non locking ignition switch but that is not my goal...

In that case buy a replacement 62-66 steering lock from the classifieds or at a VW swap meet.

Unfortunately the steering locks are not cheap. But all euro 62-66s came with them. They are perhaps more costly in the USA. I am guessing you are in Europe.

You have an interesting M-code plate.
