Don't like the white thing, was just looking around and came across a beryl green bug and thought it looked awesome on that car. I was wondering if anyone has seen or done beryl green on a thing. May not be the right color for that style, just curious |

That would have been a custom color for a 181. For those who are curious, this is beryl green:
I think the color preference of your Thing is a very personal thing :> [
Beryl green would not be in my top 5 _________________ Walküre Restoration Thread: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=737492 |

Hi STLCAR
Is it not the minimum for you to thank somebody for searching in all his pictures the one you are looking for ?

Nice color! I like green (and love certain reds) - my long gone 74 Ghia had emerald green (or whatever VW called it) that was very nice. This might be my second choice if I were going to paint a car green. _________________ 71 Ghia Coupe - stock body - no rust! Also forgot to ask that hood mod with the spare in it. Did you do that yourself or was that ever an option. |

So my Thing will never be show quality (I have 3 boys under 5 years old that love to hit it with their toys) so I am going to do a cheap refresh on it. My question is how bad will it look if I just paint the outside and leave the inside white? I have a local guy who will fix some rust areas and paint the whole car for $800 but dont think hes going to strip the interior down. Also I have black carpet in there as well (Previous owner). I basically want the outside to look better (cant stand the old dull white respray, its gets real dirty). Any input would be much appreciated. |

Why not have your paint guy do the doors inside and out and shoot the inner B pillar as well,.. Then you can mask and spray the rest of the interior in black... I'd think that would look better than green outside and white inside......(?)
Maybe a good time to start teaching those boys to respect property as well...
Teach them now, and save yoursefl(and many others) a lot of trouble and heartache later!
That's my $.02...
