Not really a whine or a rant on this one other than the high price. That being said this is a very nice example of a survivor. All original that I can detect. Engine has been rebuilt. I did notice that the front seats have been bolstered to keep the drivers butt where it should be. Anyone that has driver their early VW in a spirited manner would understand the need for the seat modification.
Not sure it would get $27,280. But it is nice.

Have a great weekend.

It's a nice car, just not worth the asking price. It's also been for sale since 2014.

That's true. Was this posted in this forum before? I didn't even know the samba existed in 2014. So if it was posted then I had no idea.

$10Gs for 5 pieces of junk still seems excessive.

Good thing the guy wrapped that string (or whatever it is) around the Bradley! Otherwise there's no telling what condition it might have ended up in! Very Happy

Maybe rare in Alabama- where it has not yet been converted to a catfish noodler's air source?

It's rare to see massive rust inside the distributor. Smile

From what I understand, this was something VW dealers threw in with the purchase of a new beetle. The price is nuts, AND it's broken!

Why hasn't this sold yet? Looks like the best deal around at the moment. On a nice restored drive-able car. Seems like about 10 of these good deals comes around about once a year. Unless I'm missing something on this particular car.

OMG. (Vomiting in my mouth.) The sacrilege thing about that car is it started off black. Black!

A fine example of someone with no taste and to much money.

Why do people have to paint bugs such butt ugly colors? It's like a thing. I see it all the time. And just don't get it.

A few changes would make it look MUCH better and help sell.

-loose the white walls and paint the rims the factory black and white
-stock running boards instead of the crap chrome
-paint the chrome fan shroud or get an original piece

the cheap carpet and door panels scream empi rebuild

I think it looks pretty good ..despite some of the unneccessary modifications, and the horn ring being on upside down. Part of the 'not selling' problem is likely that its out in the middle of nowhere in Idaho .....

Indeed ^^ Post Falls is way up north- barely hangs on to the Spokane market. To call that car original on this site is a big no-no for a full repaint, low buck resto. Bumpers look good tough.

I'm guilty of only looking at the front, but didn't see a grommet there. I was rootin' for it though! Cool

Indeed, that ragtop has a very strange hole chopped in it. to claim any upholstery shop can make one is a huge line of bullshit. No shop I know would want their name attached to that mess.
