Windshield wiper motor

Can an oval wiper motor and linkage be made to work on a 50 split? I realize that it's not correct, but it is available to me. I could use it while continuing to look for the correct one.

... will work... my '55 has a split wiper motor, without the auto park feature, like my '50 had... push the button in and the wipers stop right there... so, gotta' wait till it's in the right position to push it off.
