Hello TripWire,

did those wheels set you back!?

I hadn't thought much about the wheels at the moment. Have to think about it.

They aren't cheap by any means! I make them and I still have over $2k in them... I also make the custom hubcaps... that adds another $1k to the setup! I know... I'm not right Crying or Very sad

Nice build!! I probably buy a renault ondine, and I'd like to put in it a vw bug engine, but I don't want to change the original structure.

Do you know if a renault r8 gearbox would work good with a vw engine?

Can I Put the vw gearbox in the ondine without cutting the chassis (building a support structure)?

Thanks and greetings from Spain

Hello Albertoprop17,

I would say to measure the bolt pattern from motor to tranny.

From my research most guys are changing the entire pan for easy parts availability. Here in the states the Dauphine parts are very rare.

Good look.

I just did a NSU 1200 onto a VW pan for the same reason, love the car..can't find parts! We used to call those "Dope Fiends" at the yard I worked at, crushed many back in the day...

Going to strip paint of rims, has anyone used READY STRIP remover?

I have used aircraft paint remover in the past wanted to see the difference.
