Probably a stupid question seeing as I can't find any posts on this, but I just want to make sure I get all the parts that need replacing now rather than later. The car is a '69 Ghia coupe.

You need to check everything for wear and replace as needed. Just because the new parts are available doesn't mean they are better than what you have.

On my front beam/axle I replaced my brakes, brake hoses, shocks, steering damper, ball joint boots ( upper & lower ) the ball joints were good, rubber was bad. Also the steering coupler. Look around and inspect.

Hi and WELCOME.
First verify the basic beam is rust free as this is the foundation for the entire front end.
Wear items include ball joints, tie rod ends, steering damper, steering box, coupling, calipers, pads, rotors, bearings, seals.
Removing the fuel tank allows greater accessibility and now the fuel system can be looked at also.
Hope this helps, Bill.

And assure the beam is not bent rearwards. At the dealer we used to have a approx. 4foot long piece of aluminum to lay against the beam tubes to assure this.

Also make sure the bearings and bushings in the ends of the torsion beams are reasonably tight. You can check this by disconnecting the arm from the spindle assembly and making sure it isn't loose in the end of the beam, indicating the bearings or bushings are shot. My lower bearings were shot. I think water got into them.
