I had a great time at the meet up too! Lots of friendly people and definitely some interesting cars! Thanks to the guys who put the meet up together!
Clint, I've sent you a link to my photobucket acct with a ton of pics I took at the meet. Feel free to post any/all of them from the event.
I hope we can join forces (Central North Carolina Volkswagens [CNCVW] and Tarheel Aircooled Society [TAS]) for future events!
The only thing I suggest is sticking to pavement... that blue bug came scraping into the clearing at Umstead.... I was cringing, but apparently he wasn't worried about it. LOL _________________ Check out my beetle and other cars:

We should also note that there were three more vehicles not pictured... I put my cam up and didn't think to take their pics!
There were two more beetles and that blue and white bus! _________________ Check out my beetle and other cars:

Hey guys,
We are trying to organize a club down here along the coast of NC, called Coastal Carolina Air Coolers. It started out to be just a group of dune buggy owners, but we are now doing our best to include all types of air cooled VWs. I just created a club/group on Facebook earlier today and I put the word out locally to get on board (search for Coastal Carolina Air Coolers).
Please keep us informed down this way of any cruise in/event that you have planned for the future.

The Coastal Carolina Air Coolers VW Club would like to invite you to join us on our CCAC Day Cruise to Myrtle Beach #2, on Saturday, October 24th, 2009. This is just a target date, we will review the extended weather forecast during the preceding Wednesday afternoon and either confirm the date, or announce that we are going to move it to the following Saturday (once again, reviewing the weather beforehand). Coordinating with other clubs here in the southeast, our ultimate goal is to schedule air cooled VW Cruise Ins throughout the year in the NC/SC/Va area.
This event might be our last chance during 2009 to have a Cruise In of this nature before the weather turns too cold to make a gathering like this enjoyable. Please check out the following thread for updates and comments:

The target date for the CCAC Day Cruise to Myrtle Beach #2 has been moved to Saturday, October 31, 2009 (Halloween). There is a very good chance that we will choose Broadway at the Beach again for our group's destination to eat lunch. For those that join us for this cruise and decide to stay overnight in Myrtle Beach, I can tell you this; Broadway at the Beach gets pretty crazy during Halloween night, so bring you costumes and let's get it on!
This event might be our last chance during 2009 to have a Cruise In of this nature before the weather turns too cold to make a gathering like this enjoyable. Please check out the following thread for updates and comments:

Any of these groups still going? I have been living in the raleigh area the past few years and would like to be apart of a vw group again. Me and my vws feel isolated _________________ Proud caretaker and owner of a 64 Karmann Cabriolet, 64 deluxe split, 69 ghia, 70 squareback |
