Thought I should share this.
I always thought I couldn't run one on a pre-1981 car.
Carfax wouldn't do it.
But autocheck did.
Just thought I should share.

10 digits.

you sure it worked for you? It says 80 and later VIN and 17 characters when I tried it.

it worked for me.
I can't promise it will work for you.
I have no idea why it worked... Maybe I did it with the license plate?

Maybe you have to join and pay a fee, cause it doesn't work with my plate number either?

:oops:Another option for just a little info is the smog ck station- I ran mine thru the Cali data base and saw where the tests were made and how the car did and confirmed what the PO said about a new motor as it failed- and a few weeks later it passed.
