hi i am new to this site and i am new to bugs. i am restoring a 70 bug and i want to get one of those ac things you put into the passenger window and roll the window up they make fresh air rush inside the car. i know it is not cooled air but i think it will be cool to have on the bug
i am pumped i found this site you will all have to be patient with me i have only been into bugs for a little while and i cant tell one from another yet one thing i need to know my bug is a 70 so what years would the window thing work for ?
thank you |

thank you i was not sure what they were called and i was allover this site looking for them
i am gladd that they should fit all bugs i thought the little front vent window was reshaped in the mid 60's and that could affect the fit of this thing
cool i am off to get me one |

They work on the basis of evaporative cooling. If you leave in a very low humidity area (Arizona, New Mexico, etc) they can lower the temperatur by up to 15-25 Farenheit.
In humid (Florida, Lousiana, etc) states they do not do a damm thing. |

They are definitely worthless here. _________________ Mike |

Those are "Swamp Coolers", they're much larger. Do a search for Thermador, or Swamp Coooler in the classifieds or gallery. _________________ (O\U|U/O) Top Vw (o\UU/o) |

I grew up in the back seat of a 55 Plymouth that crossed the country a lot with one of those ugly things on the passenger window.
As a historical artifact they're interesting, but a spray bottle or wet towel works as well and doesn't hamper opening the window. |
