Does anyone know where I can get a pin for my 1971 stick shift? It was missing when I got it causing lots of play. Was thinking of using a roll pin if I couldn't find one. Any good ideas?

Chiming in a few years late with the exact same situation.

I just did this here in Puerto Rico. I've got it all taken apart (havent pulled the tranny) replaced all of the bushings and even the stop plate, and it's still not finding gears right (everything feels a bit over to the left).

Any ideas for a guy stranded on an island? IS this just a matter of keeping adjusting that stop plate? Or did the valet (funny story there too) bend something?

Thoughts? Ideas?
