|
|
Hi everyone - quick question!
The front drum brakes on my 356B have seized while stored in the garage over Winter, and I need to have it winched out of the garage backwards to be transported to the garage for fixing
On the front of the car there is the towing eye, but where would anyone recommend to use on the back of the car as the place to attach the winch?
Thanks in advance and all advice much appreciated!
Regards, Judder |

I'd buy a couple of mini mover's dollies from Harbor Freight. They each have a 1000 lb. capacity. Jack the front of the car up, drop one under each wheel, and roll the car out. I wouldn't winch my cars rearwards with locked up front wheels. |

Judder: You may be able to release the drum by detaching (or cutting) the rubber brake lines. When they age, one result is swelling that locks the brakes.
If you can tow it from the front, first insure that the tow hook is solidly attached. Rusty ones have been known to pull out.
Good Luck. Tom |
