Fly cut the heads. One valve needed to be grinded to seal. New push rod tubes and seals I just need to rebuild the fuel pump now. _________________ 56 Oval

It is the only un-clogged intake manifold I can find for now. I am only running like this till I get my Okrasa kit. Do you think it will be ok? Thanks _________________ 56 Oval

As far as i know it doesn't matter as long as it bolts up and seals. _________________ How to Post Photos

Original paint appears to be Diamond Green. One of my favorite VW factory colors. _________________ 1957 VW Oval Resto Mod |

The Diamond Green was on top of the factory black. It was just one of 3 paint jobs on top of the OG paint. Green, White, Brown.
Thanks for checking out my project!

Progress is slow. I finally found the correct intake manifold. Mounted 145s on new smoothies up front.

Nice find! Curious what your plans are for the Oval. Restoration? Get it running and drive as is? _________________ 1957 VW Oval Resto Mod |

Wow is that a loaded question. First we are going to get in to OG paint, complete and running as is. So far it has a all new brake system, drop spindles, a rebuilt engine among a list of other new parts to make it road worthy. It will have a new interior installed soon.
So after I get this 36hp beast on the road I am going to find out real quick if I am down with going 55mph top speed.
If I like it I am going to keep it as near to original as possible.
If not I will either tear all the 36er stuff out and build a real dual port engine and tranny or sell it.
I am not planning on painting it, if that is what you mean by restoration. I am into patina cars. They are much more honest than painted cars.
Thanks for checking it out. _________________ 56 Oval

55 MPH sucks just ask Sammy Hagar. Save yourself the time and just sell it to me ! _________________ LOVE splits more than Jean-Claude Van Damme |
