I have searched what seems like forever, for an exploded view of a VJU4BR8 or equivalent distributor. I am cleaning up and reassembling mine and would appreciate any help that I can get. (Putting it back together)

That image is for the VJ 4 BR 25/010 distributor which is the mechanical advance version. Not even Glenn's how to section has the vacuum advance version diagram. The VJU 4 BR 8 is the SVDA distributor for 36 hp Beetle. There may be one in the archives or technical section of TheSamba.

That's was why I was asking. I had seen that. I'll keep digging.

It took some serious investigative diggin but finally came up with one. It is out of the Official Parts List book from 1947-1971.

The VJU 4 BR 2 from December 1953 until January 1954 and the VJU 4 BR 3 from January 1954 until July 1954 are slightly different.

This is perfect, I am sure that everything will work out. I have two VJU4BR8 one from Dec 53 and the other Dec 59. I will just make sure that I make notes on the one from 59 to determine if there are any differences and note a differences from the information you provided.

The VJU 4 BR 8 distributor did not come out until August of 1954 (K date stamp) so you might want to recheck your date stamp on the early one.
