Is it just a matter of reassembling it when they're finished? You've some time yet, and a thing is pretty simple, even more so than a beetle. Two weeks seems reasonable if you get it back (it sounds like a lot of fun too). Do they not have an estimate when they'll be finished? |

We finally got some paint on some of the part today. Looks real nice so far but not sure if they will get the rest of the car done in time. Still have my fingers crossed to make it to Tipp City.

That looks really nice, is that original orange or something different? Hope you can make it to KTE, are you planning to drive it there or haul it? |

It is supposed to be the original color but with a nice shine to it. If it is done I will drive. I only live about 30 miles away. |

If it Isn't done, y'all better at least tow it in! 30 miles away?? Engine, brakes, gas tank, seats, and minor electrical is all ya need to get that far!! Drive that sucker in!!
I've just realized I've got some work to get done myself in the next few weeks.... _________________ '74 Thing, "Our Thing"....

I have thought about driving it with just the parts that are done.
The rear seat are assembled. I will try and get my hands on the doors and get them assembled and just hang around with the rest of the parts. Try to get as much done so I can just pop it together when it is finished.

We have had cars come as rolling pans, in primer towed in with a golf cart, bare metal , everyone likes to look at projects. Please bring what you have. |

The paint is on and assembly will begin tomorrow. I have 2 weeks off work and should be able to get some things done.

looks real good man!
Yall don't yell at me but I'm going to offer some "sage" advice.
Show, or No Show, Don't rush the put-together.
Do it slow and right, and you will be fine.
Shows will come and go, but scratches in new paint from a rush
reassemble job stay there, thru many mumbles grunts and cusses over a LONG period of time.
Unless money is no object, then you repaint and rock on!
Good luck with it, I hope you do make the show but don't let it force you to make snap decisions to make a date, get it right.
We want you to be happy when you're playing with your THING! LOL

sound advice. the wife and I are off work for 2 weeks and I am being very cautious or trying to. Was able to get the fenders and tail light on today and it is home in the garage. So far so good. It felt so good to drive it after 9 months or so.

My luck has changed for the better. Only have a few small things to do like the antenna, adjust the head lights. I am very happy tonight!
