I received a Flat 4 Eliminator Shifter as a gift and need some advice installing it on my 62 KG coupe. First of all does anybody have any experience with this shifter? Will this shifter work without modifications? Do I use the components from the stock shifter (spring, lockout plate)? I actually like the design of the curved shifter and would like to use it but I don't want to modify or stray away from the original set up....(so I can go back to the original shifter if I don't like this aftermarket one). I just installed a new shift rod bushing and coupler so ready for the shifter....I believe this was purchased from Cip1.....thanx for any advice and info..... _________________ 62 Karmann Ghia Coupe. 60 Chevy Stepside Pickup |

The "eliminator" shifter requires no modifications. Follow the installation instructions and all will be good. The shifter boot does require 4 holes drilled into the tunnel for the mounting screws, I have used mine for 10 trouble free years _________________ "Depression is a malfunction of the instrument we use to determine reality.”
