ok, great! Just getting those gaps filled will drop your temps a lot. Report back.

My 1915cc does about the same thing,,has the (don't usethat SLANTED fan shroud,no stock oil cooler at all, just a blockoff & a 72 plate w/fan I turn on Rolling Eyes mounted over the trans, gaps all over the place too Laughing no sled tin ,, hell hardly any tin really ,just the 'forgetmeknots'under the cylinders Wink and the rest of them are CHROME Laughing Laughing
and It's turbocharged so ever more heated oil coming out of a hotass turbo
I'm not worried at all!!! It still has 10lbs @1000rpm when it's all hot & bothered Laughing and I hammer on this thing!!! then cruise to bring the temps back down Cool Cheers,Madmike

So the temps still seem ok. 220 at 65mph and 210 around town with 95 deg ambient temperature.

I'm still fighting the weird acceleration from a cruise. It's not so much a fall on Face flat spot. The best way I can describe is it that when I roll on the throttle from cruising about half way it feels like hitting a rev limiter. Just a wall for half a second then accelerates fine.

Timing is@30degrees at full advance

Both carbs reach full throttle at the same time.

Any ideas?

Could need an accelerator pump adjustment, either its going lean and missfires or rich and floods the spark for a moment. Before you try adjusting them, just try richening up the idle mixture an 1/8th of a turn.

Ok, so i know its been a while but I just wanted to post an update.

After a bunch of small things I got the oil temps under control. Here is a list of what i did,

1) change oil to 10w30
2) Fill all gaps in tin
3) Mess with carb linkage till perfect

I also found out that my temp gauge is reading high like everyone said. In 100 degree weather my cold motor is showing almost 120 degrees.

so after everything i took a drive up to Spooner summit. That's 2300 feet in 13 miles and 95 degree ambient. Temps got to 230 and I'm happy with that.

Average highway temps are 190-220 depending on ambient

thanks for all the advice!
