No, it actually had a short cable with hoop and and thick end. I've googled trying to find a shorter cable, but no luck |

I don't know of anyone who sells a shorter cable as it isn't stock. Most cut the cable and use a cable extender like pictured.
Good luck _________________ Rick

As you can see in the pic below, my accelerator cable is quite long. Crosslink bar sits behind the shroud in my set up. Is there a shorter cable I can try, or should I just clip it and throw on one of those cable extender ends? I see that as another point of failure, but may have to go that route anyway.
Anyone with experience with the cable extender ends, problems, no problems, things to look out for? Thanks,

I use the cable extender that is photographed above. It just uses an allen head set screw. Make sure it does not hit your front tin when the throttle is fully open.
Not sure what length cable you are using now, but jbugs has a list of lengths so you can try to use a shorter one, but you may need to use the extender to make it perfect. I did.

Thank you Sir, will look into the extender and try that route!

I’ve always used a heavy duty braided cable like this.

Easy to install. Even on the side of the road. _________________ Volkswagen!

Thanks Jeffrey, always good to have a back up for just those occasions, clutch cable, rotor, points, if stock set up, and a hundred other little pieces!! You really get to know how to fix almost anything on these cars after a while!
