... that's easy, no shade of white was offered as stock in 5/1955... colors offered were:
black, L41
Beige, L370
Strato Silver (blue), L227
Polar Silver, L3324
Reed Green, L313
Jungle Green, L315
If your car is (obviously) white, originally then perhaps it was a custom ordered color... what is the color code on the birth certificate? _________________ 5/50, pastel green 11G - SOLD
8/50, gray 11A Beetle
6/52, pastel green 11C - SOLD
11/4/52, black Zwitter - SOLD to my little bro.
1954 Porsche, pre A, with VW 36 horse- SOLD
1/54, black 11C Beetle - TRADED
2/55 Iceland green Beetle, on a 1965 pan
3/55 113 Beetle, stratos silver
1955 Messerschmitt KR175 - SOLD, sadly
1960 single cab
1962 SO33, with SO 42 interior

Thanks. Nice looking cars and they'll help. Yes, I am talking about light beige. I thought that would be clear since we're talking about Ovals. She looks at my light beige car and sees it as a white one. I'll be grateful for pix of any spectrum of white including beige, light beige, French beige, mode beige, off white, buff, Tuscan, unbleached silk, cream or whatever you have. But not ecru.
Thanks, |
The problem is, it isn't clear... When you ask for "white" you get what the majority of people on this planet to be considered white and that is the traditional snow white/pure white, off-white and possibly cream. That's about it.
I realize on a paint scale beige and whatnot are in the white family but, to most people, beige would be more along the lines of tan and I don't know anyone (except you) that normally thinks of these colors as "white".
This is like saying grey is black. |
Thank you, Keith. I've seen the error of my ways. You have clarified everything perfectly. |
