Bought a set of Ansen slotted aluminum rims. Stock lug bolts are way to short. What is the proper length, and where do I get them? Also, original bolts have conical shoulder rims don't look right for that style. Thanks for any advice |

You might get a quicker answer over in the custom rims/tires forum

Typically mag wheels use a flat round washer. The gap between the shank of the lug bolt or lug nut and the hole in the rim should be a maximum of 1/64 inch (total)... that's 1/128" on each opposing side of the lug when installed in the center of the hole. Not much!! Measure the hole in your rim. Buy a lug that's no more than 0.0156 inches less than the rim hole dia.
Wheel bolt length will need to be a minimum of wheel bolting surface thickness (at the hole) + drum/disc thickness (female thread depth) + washer thickness.
How much longer you can be and have it still work... depends on when you'll get interference from the excessive length. (tip of bolt starts hitting something under the drum/disc)
The smooth part of the lug shank should go most of the way through the rim... but NOT be more than rim thickness at the hole. If the smooth part is too long... it will bottom out on the drum/disc... and not let the washer come under compression (your wheel will be loose). The depth of thread in the lug nut (if that's what you use)... will also need to be deep enough. Check out sketch #3 here:

Maybe determine your minimum lengths (to the millimeter)... know your bolt diameter/thread pitch... and then poke around here:

Most of the stuff listed by Dorman can be bought on Amazon/eBay/FLAPS
