well I'm in my discovery phase of body work on my 66 beetle project and my driver quarter had like 2 inches thick of bondo on it, I guess the car was hit there a long time ago. my question is, can I use part of a quarter panel from a 68 and up? I only need the part of the part highlighted. or is it totally different curve?

Technically you can use the 68- up quarter section you highlighted. The holes for the chrome body molding clips will be larger than the original 66. _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |

Don't need anything with the holes part just the part below those holes so I guess this is an option then. Thanks |

Fixed it for ya!
Some 68 and later front quarter panels come with the brake res. support in the area that you have highlighted. That would have to be removed if you care about being bone stock on a 66. Also some front quarters do not have any holes drilled in them for the moldings when re-popped.
Good Luck. _________________ I have learned over the years.
